Scholar Spotlight

Anna Hallowell

Anna is an 11th grade student at Lake Central High School in Saint John, IN. Anna is president of N-Teens, an esteemed volunteer club at school. She is also co-president of Lake County Public Library’s teen advisory board and an officer for the Academic Letter Winner Club. Anna enjoys high positions in these clubs because it provides a challenging leadership experience for her. Anna also enjoys participating in the Future Medical Professionals Club, the Science Olympiad Team and the Women in Engineering and Science Club. She received second place in the Indiana Foreign Language Teachers Association poster competition for Integrating Global Communities. Anna enjoys volunteering at the Franciscan Saint Margaret Mercy Hospital, the Lake County Public Library and the Suncrest Church and Young Life.

2015 Indianapolis/Chicago Banquet:

The multicultural, global city of Chicago, IL hosted the 2015 Carson Scholars Fund Awards Banquet. Even the rainy weather couldn’t dampen spirits on this special day. Carson Scholars brought their families, friends and an array of educators to witness their joy while receiving the coveted gold medallion. Emmy Award winner, Dr. Sandy Goldberg from NBC Chicago, graciously served as emcee. Read more.

2014 Indianapolis Banquet Highlights

Near the top of the One America Tower, (a.k.a  American United Life Insurance Tower) the Skyline restaurant presented a rather cozy setting for the couple hundred academic enthusiasts gathered for the Annual Indianapolis Carson Scholars Awards Ceremony. Read more.
