The Carsons have been on the road!

Dr. Ben Carson and wife Candy have been out and about again!

*In September, Dr. Carson spoke to approximately 300 African- American Proctor
and Gamble Research and Development professionals at an enrichment seminar in
West Chester, Ohio.  Mrs. Candy Carson marveled at the many people there who are making
such a difference in all of our lives through their creative discoveries
and inventions!

*The Carson's then visited Denver, Colorado with the Save Our Youth Mentoring  Project, a grass roots
organization founded by Luis Villareal. This organization has expanded in its 17 years, now
transforming the lives of over 450 at-risk youth per year!

*Dr. Carson spoke to Johnson & Johnson’s Global Medical Organization and their
Pharmaceutical Research and Development Division in Princeton, NJ in early October.

*While the Philadelphia Phillies were working their way from a 4 - 0  score trailing
Cincinnati to a winning score of 7-4, Dr. Carson was  about a mile from the stadium
at the Hyatt Regency Philadelphia at Penn's Landing, addressing Horatio Alger
Scholarship Alumni.  The summit was hosted by successful
Philadelphia businessman Joe Neubauer and his wife Jeannette,
who had spoken earlier in the program on favorite
Philly son, Ben Franklin.

*The American Association of Blood Banks held it's 60th
convention at the Baltimore Convention Center.
During his speech, Dr. Carson praised the crowd of 3,000 blood bank professionals,
thanking them for providing health care workers with the life-sustaining "miracle fluid" when patients need it most.
Dr. Carson cited one particular time when the blood banking organization really came
through for a patient.

During the 22-hour Binder
Siamese twins separation, when the twins had completely depleted
the given supply of type-specific blood, it appeared that all the time and effort during surgery
would come to naught, until the Maryland Red Cross, working with the Hopkins blood bank came up
with just the right amount needed to sustain the children, and the
operation went on to become a success!

*The Greater Kansas City, MO Medical Society's first Physician
Recognition Awards Dinner honors program at the Hyatt saw Dr. Carson in its midst on the
evening of Saturday, Oct 9. Kansas City, Missouri, is the home of the Cerner Corporation, touted as the leading
US supplier of healthcare information technology solutions that optimize clinical
and financial outcomes.  Dr. Carson was the opening keynote speaker for their annual
conference the next day.
