Congratulations Ball Drop Winners!

Congratulations Pine Island Elementary and Veterans Elementary – you are the Carson Scholars Fund’s Second Annual Ball Drop winners!

Despite having to move the ball drop inside due to some frightful weather outside, this year’s ball drop succeeded in reaching schools across the country.

Lucky number 65 fell first, making Pine Island Elementary School in Lee County, Florida the grand prize winner. This means that Pine Island will be guaranteed a winner thanks to the ball drop. It also means that Joan Rosenburg, a volunteer at Pine Island who purchased the ball, has won a Barnes and Noble Nook!

Veterans Elementary School in Howard County, Maryland won in two ways. The school sold 75 balls, guaranteeing itself a winner before the balls were even numbered – AND had the second winning ball during the ball drop itself. This means that Veterans Elementary won two scholarships thanks to the ball drop!
