A Fun-Filled Two Days in Indianapolis!

The partners of the CSF Indianapolis Chapter have teamed up for a busy two-day schedule. Tonight is the sold out 2012 Indianapolis Awards Banquet! For the first time ever in Indianapolis history, the awards banquet is being held in the spring, and we’re so happy about the positive response to this change. We can’t wait to see everyone and have a great end to the banquet season!

…But we have more to celebrate.

Mrs. Candy Carson is making her rounds to our Ben Carson Reading Rooms in Indianapolis today and tomorrow, including our two newest rooms.

Today, she visited two existing Ben Carson Reading Rooms. First, she stopped by Christel House Academy to talk with a group of students, discussing Dr. Carson’s academic progression from being the worst student to a world-renowned pediatric surgeon.

Shortly after, Mrs. Carson visited Louis B. Russell, Jr. School 48 to read to children in grades 1-4.

On tomorrow’s schedule, Mrs. Carson will attend the grand opening of Paul I. Miller Elementary School 114’s Ben Carson Reading Room. The all-school assembly will include short presentations from the administration and students followed by a ribbon cutting to open their new reading room. Mrs. Carson will also tour the school.

And the last stop in Indianapolis is the grand opening of Center for Inquiry School 27’s Ben Carson Reading Room. Mrs. Carson and about 50 students will participate in the opening of this new room. The room incorporates fun decorations and décor that will bring students a step closer to finding joy in a book!

Thanks to everyone who made these rooms possible, especially Indiana University School of Medicine for their support.

Congratulations to our Indianapolis Carson Scholars and our new Ben Carson Reading Room Schools!
