Great News for Non-Profits!

Yesterday, 40 billionaires made a pledge to donate half of their wealth to charities either during their lifetime or after their death.

Bill and Melinda Gates and American investor, Warren Buffett led the way in what is being called the ‘giving pledge,’ a pledge to give away at least half of their wealth to advance nonprofit organizations who have been hit hard by the current economic climate. Other investors include CNN founder Ted Turner, Director George Lucas, and current New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg. By pledging to give, these philanthropists hope to inspire others to give back as well. To read more about the Pledge or for a full list of those committing to the pledge click here.
