The Third Annual Ben Carson Celebrity Golf Tournament will be held at The Five Farms Golf Course. The East Course with back-to-front pitched greens, limited water hazards and 96 bunkers has received many honors, including the No. 31 ranking in Golfweek’s March 2007 list of “America’s Top 100 Classic Golf Courses (pre-1960)” and the No. 93 ranking in GOLF Magazine’s September 2007 list of “Top 100 Courses in the U.S.” The UGA lists Baltimore Country Club as one of the first 100 clubs established in the United States. The East Course at Five Farms has hosted several major championships including the 1928 PGA Championship, the 1932 USGA Amateur Championship, the 1965 Walker Cup Matches and the 1988 Women’s Open Championship, and most recently, the Senior Players Championship in 2007-2008.   In conjunction with the tournament, the Carson Scholars Fund will hold a golf ball drop to provide scholarships for academically talented and socially conscious students.  Prior to the start of the tournament, numbered golf balls will be dropped by helicopter over a putting green.  The first number ball to fall into the hole or the ball closest to the hole will be declared the winner.  The winner will receive a $1,500 cash award along with a 2010 Carson Scholarship for the school of his/her choice.  Runners up could win a flat screen television or other great prizes.

In addition, if 75 balls are purchased indicating the same school, then that school automatically receives a 2010 Carson Scholarship.  All proceeds benefit the Carson Scholars Fund.
