     Being bilingual in America is no simple task, however Jose Tineo is not just bilingual, he is also an outstanding Carson Scholar. Jose moved to Connecticut from the Dominican Republic to be with his mother and to experience the advantages of attending school in America. Labeled a “very responsible, mature, intelligent, and highly motivated student,” Jose doesn’t allow something as trivial as language to stop him from learning. Jose is always questioning new knowledge and actively seeks out answers to his questions. He hopes to apply his dedication and the advantage of a good educational foundation to become an engineer.
