Commemorating Determination
InWritten by admin on Mar 19,2013 - 10:33amIn 2012, the Carson Scholars Fund awarded its first ever scholarship in New Mexico. The scholarship went to an 11th grade student named Cesar Quesada-Rojas from Valley High School in Albuquerque, NM. Cesar’s 4.4 GPA, well-written essay, and extensive community service made him an excellent candidate; but what truly made him stand out from the crowd was the fact that Cesar had accomplished so much while also battling cancer.

InWritten by admin on Oct 05,2012 - 10:45am
Earlier this summer, the Carson Scholars Fund was saddened to learn that 2002 Carson Scholar Elizabeth Nass had passed away. Elizabeth was named a Carson Scholar while in fourth grade at Hollifield Station Elementary School in Ellicott City, MD. She went on to graduate from Mount Hebron High School and was currently attending James Madison University. Our thoughts and prayers have been and continue to be with Elizabeth’s family and friends.

First Guest Blogger Entry - Featuring Andrew Greene!
InWritten by admin on Aug 03,2012 - 09:48amStarting today, we’re introducing a new series on the CSF blog: guest bloggers. About twice a month, we’ll feature blogs written by people involved with the organization in different ways – scholars, alumni, parents, staff, volunteers, board members, etc. We hope these guest bloggers can provide new insight about what it means to be a Carson Scholar, how the organization works, and how others can get involved. For our first guest blogger, we are excited to feature Andrew Greene. Andrew is a scholar alumnus who was named a Carson Scholar an amazing five times.
