Opportunity Early Childhood Education and Family Center Opens Hundred Acre Wood-themed Reading Room
A.A. Milne’s character Winnie-the-Pooh once said, “A grand adventure is about to begin.” That is exactly what happened on November 7, when Opportunity Early Childhood Education and Family Center in West Palm Beach opened their Hundred Acre Wood-themed reading room. The afternoon festivities began with the children and teachers joining together for the “Uniting Song,” “Connecting Song,” and a breathing technique to center and calm each student. After an inspiring message from CSF Co-founder Mrs. Candy Carson, guests and students were escorted to the colorful Think Big Reading Room.
As the students entered the bright, whimsical reading room, their eyes gazed upon the hundreds of colorful picture books in baskets and bookcases. A large mural of a life-size Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore adorn the wall below a large oak tree, adding to the effect of being a character in the Hundred Acre Wood. The room features a variety a comfortable child-size seating options as well as a beautiful bird mobile and a canopy that hangs from the ceiling.
