L.R. Green Elementary School Opens Think Big Reading Room
Escondido Union School District, in conjunction with the Carson Scholars Fund, celebrated opening of its first Think Big Reading Room at L.R. Green Elementary. Students were beside themselves with excitement and ready to blast into a reading adventure in their new space- themed reading room that is nestled in the corner of their library. L.R. Green Elementary marks the first of seven schools in the district that will be equipped with a Think Big Reading Room. All seven reading rooms are sponsored by the Gagon Trust, which has impacted young readers in the southern California area through their generosity. A deep space mural, incredible framed images of galaxies, cosmic area rug and comfy seating options help make this area an inviting place on campus. The Mayor of Escondido, district school board members, and district officials rounded out the guest list for the big opening celebration.
