The Ben Carson Reading Project is soaring to new heights with the grand opening of Oregon’s first reading room at Hamlin Middle School in Springfield on December 6, 2024. This marks an exciting milestone, bringing the total number of reading rooms to 296 across 24 states and Washington, DC! The Hamlin Middle School reading room is especially significant as it is the 58th to be sponsored by the Eleni and Wolfgang Gagon Trust. Designed with a peaceful landscape, it transports students to a serene “forest by a lake,” creating the perfect setting for reading. We are deeply grateful to the dedicated educators at Hamlin Middle School for their hard work in bringing this space to life. Congratulations on being Oregon’s first reading room and helping us reach a national network of 24 states! The event was such a success that it was featured in the Springfield Public Schools newsletter. Check it out here.
