“All Aboard!”
The train is ready to depart the Carson Street Station at Woodstation Elementary in Rock Springs, Georgia.
This, however, is no ordinary train – no tickets or baggage required. The only requirement is the students’ imaginations.
The Carson Street Station is the fifth Ben Carson Reading Room to be sponsored by the Holland Family Foundation. A bright blue locomotive pulls red, green, and yellow passenger cars. The cars were handmade by a local company, and children can climb inside to curl up with a good book. The massive mural features rustic scenery as the train navigates its way through narrow tunnels. A quote engraved on the wall reminds students that “Reading gives us someplace to go when we must stay where we are.”
