This summer the CSF welcomed new member Sarah Malko to the Associate Leadership Council. Sarah is a two-time Carson Scholar alumna with an impressive resume and a desire to give back and help others. She is passionate about medicine and is the team leader for the Brain Executive Initiation at her university, a role which enables her to host and lead activity sessions for those with Alzheimer’s living in a senior home.

I grew up in Iraq and Jordan before moving to San Diego in the second grade. My journey as an immigrant has shaped my path and fueled my motivation. Currently, I’m a rising senior majoring in Neurobiology at the University of California, San Diego and I’m also premed! I love Middle Eastern line dancing, trying out new cafes, and swimming. I was a Carson Scholar in high school, and I look forward to giving back to other students as part of the ALC!
The CSF Associate Leadership Council is comprised of aspiring young professionals who are committed to the mission of the CSF. They play a large role in engaging alumni through newsletters, networking events and fundraisers and leverage their connections to introduce new supporters to the CSF. Alumni scholars are encouraged to apply; however, you do not need to be an alumni scholar to participate. Please contact lrichards@carsonscholars.org for more information.
