Every Carson Scholar is reaching toward something: a career they’re curious about, a goal just out of reach, a decision they don’t know how to make. The CSF Mentorship Program pairs them with a mentor who listens, asks the right questions, and helps map the way forward.

What this program looks like is different for each mentorship pairing. One of our current scholar mentees ended up rethinking a pre-med academic pathway with her mentor, and they chartered a new one together. Another leaned on her mentor’s coaching around positive self-talk to get through a hard stretch of exams. A third pair, although separated by time zones and packed schedules, decided to keep things going via text messaging simply because consistent showing up mattered more to them than the format in which they met. Each pairing has different goals and different challenges, but they are tied together by one thing: a scholar knows that someone is in their unique corner, guiding them and cheering them on.

Our next mentorship cycle begins September 1, and this time, we’re especially excited to welcome high school mentees into the program for the first time. Keep an eye out for more details this summer as the start date approaches!
