Amelia Major recently joined the Carson Scholars Fund as a reading room coordinator, where she works with the reading room director to cultivate relationships with schools and donors with the purpose of creating reading rooms devoted to fostering children’s love of reading. She brings a passion for youth development, education and empowering youth to reach their full potential. She is incredibly excited to join the team and get to work creating inviting, meaningful spaces for children across the country.
Amelia is a 2025 graduate of Miami University, where she earned dual bachelor’s degrees in global diplomacy and strategic communications, along with a minor in Spanish. Inspired by her participation in Big Brothers Big Sisters throughout college, Amelia gained experience working in youth development through her time employed by the Boys and Girls Club of America. During that time, she developed a deeper understanding of the importance of literacy and cultivating a love of reading from an early age. She is eager to bring that firsthand experience and passion to her role and make a meaningful impact on the lives of children with the Carson Scholars Fund.
Outside of work, Amelia enjoys spending quality time with friends and family. She loves writing, staying active, cooking, exploring new places and trying new restaurants. She values building meaningful personal and professional relationships and is always eager to learn, grow, and embrace new experiences.
