Patterson HBCU Scholarship Applications are Open!

On April 1, 2024, Patterson HBCU Scholarship applications became available to Carson Scholars who are graduating this spring! Recipients will receive a $5,000 scholarship award that can be renewed for up to three consecutive academic years, making a huge financial impact for those attending a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) during the 2024-2025 school year.

Famous author and philanthropist, James Patterson, collaborated with Dr. and Mrs. Carson to create an opportunity that will help offset the costs of higher education for Carson Scholars who are pursuing a degree at a HBCU. We look forward to honoring James Patterson for his generosity and commitment to education at our West Palm Beach Scholars Awards Banquet this May!

Our judges are hard at work evaluating applicants based on their GPA, Carson Scholar Recognition status and their leadership initiatives. It’s amazing to watch these students continue to excel in their academic studies and character far beyond being named Carson Scholars. There is no doubt that the possibilities for these young minds are limitless!

If you are a Carson Scholar and plan to attend a HBCU as a freshman this fall, there is still time to apply! The Patterson HBCU Scholarship application portal will remain open until May 8, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. EDT.  If you are eligible to apply and did not receive the application, please email pattersonhbcu@carsonscholars.org.
