At Louis B. Russell, Jr. Elementary School the future is embraced with the theme of their quiet Reading Room! With all the wondrous unknowns and challenges involved with the theme of ‘space exploration’, the letters on blocks decorating the bookshelves relaying the adage, “Reading is out of this world” say it all! The walls are a brilliant lapis blue, replete with heavenly bodies-stars on the ceiling and planets on the walls. And the floor has a carpet depicting the complete solar system! A large, moon-like “Chinese lantern” floor lamp is only one of the many creative touches. Comfortable bean bag chairs and a galaxy’s worth of books make this Reading Room clearly “out of this world!”
The Louis B. Russell, Jr. Elementary School Reading Room was sponsored by the Indiana School of Medicine. We are grateful for their support.
