The Palm Beach County Chapter is lifting students up and making the world a better place. The Palm Beach County Chapter always knew the secret to inspiring a love of reading is to provide young children with access to high-quality, interesting and educational books. For the past 9 years this diverse group consisting of individuals, businesses and foundations has provided opportunities for Palm Beach County Schools to create vibrant, relaxing reading spaces dedicated to promoting leisure reading. What began as one reading room at Allamanda Elementary in 2014 has blossomed into a network of 28 unique Ben Carson Reading Rooms. Click the picture below to see how the Ben Carson Reading Project is impacting Palm Beach County Schools.
The Palm Beach County Chapter also supports the Carson Scholars Program. Under the direction of Sande Constantine and Linda Stoch, the Chapter has sponsored 26 scholarships in Palm Beach County.

Scholars and guests were treated to words of wisdom from world-renowned author James Patterson at the West Palm Beach banquet on May 9th. Mr. Patterson was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award for the positive impact he’s had on society through his philanthropic work, innovative ideas and philosophy of encouraging others and giving back. He and Dr. Carson participated in a Q&A session during the banquet in which scholars were able to ask questions of the duo. Through this intimate experience, guests learned about the greatest mental challenges the men have faced in their careers, the superpowers they would most like to have and why, how they dealt with negative comments or feedback regarding their work and their favorite books as children.
