Dave Kaspary Jr., RCDD, RTPM
President & CEO
MidPoint Technology Group

Can you share a bit about your professional background and your current role?

I started out in this industry as a summer job while I was attending college at Towson in 2004.  I ended up remaining in the industry with a large local integrator, holding various positions throughout my time ultimately finding myself in sales.  In 2013 my wife told me if I wanted to start a business that the time to do it was then.  I started MidPoint in January of 2014 holding the role of “Chief Everything Officer” – doing whatever was needed to make MidPoint a success.  Today I am the President/CEO with a focus on the strategic vision and propelling MidPoint’s future growth.

How do you envision the future of the organization in the next 5-10 years, and what role do you see the board playing in that vision?

This year MidPoint is poised to do in excess of $120M in revenue with over 260 W2 employees nationwide.  I see us at-least doubling our size and expanding our global reach.  In the early years of MidPoint it was tough to focus on anything outside of the core business.  Over the last couple of years we have been fortunate enough to participate in helping our local communities and supporting organizations we are aligned with.  We believe we have a duty to help uplift our communities and Carson Scholars Fund will be at the heart of our community involvement.

What has been the most rewarding challenge you’ve faced in your career?

In 2019 the company faced an inflection point which could have had a very different outcome, especially unknowingly headed into the pandemic.  That was the most difficult time in the company’s existence.  We were able to come together as a team and persevere.  This would be the most rewarding challenge in my career.

What is the most valuable leadership lesson you’ve learned in your career, and how has it shaped your approach to business?

Don’t take yourself too seriously.  I still take out the trash if the trash needs to go out.  Treat everyone, no matter what role they may be in, with the utmost respect.  Even though I am one of the owners of MidPoint, I still view myself as just an employee.  This has helped me stay focused on the needs of the company and grounded with my teammates.
