650 Students THINK BIG at Live Oak Elementary School
The Carson Scholars Fund is proud to be part of “A Culture of Reading” at Live Oak Elementary School in Fallbrook, CA. About 650 students have indulged in the love of reading in their Think Big Reading Room. With a beautiful park-themed environment, it’s no wonder that these students read approximately 60,000 minutes last year in their reading room. They visit the room before and after school, in their free time and even during recess! We’re happy to know that this space is being used to embrace the wonders of reading.
Stacey Regotti, the reading room coordinator and librarian at Live Oak Elementary School, expressed gratitude for what the reading room has done for her students. “The reading room has had a definite positive impact on our school. It’s a place where students can slow down, get away from computers, read a book and find refuge,” Stacey shared. Reading rooms are meant to enhance literacy enrichment in children and the Think Big Reading Room at Live Oak Elementary School has surpassed this expectation. Keep it up readers; the future is bright!
